BANKS MEET COMPETITION. By telegraph, Press Ass’n, Gopyxighb Received 4.47 p.m., July 9. London, July 8. All the Australian banks announce that, in ordet to meet the competition of companies and firms who have been offering more favorable terms than the banks to purchasers of drafts oable transfers in London, they have decided to allow a premium up to 10s per cent, -on oable transfer drafts of £IOO and upwards.
