(Per. Press Association.) Wellington, last night.
Last night’s meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union was of a lively character, and tbe chairman (Dr Newman) had to call several delegates to order. In connection with the proposals dealing with rough play, several members oriticised tbe methods of tbe Management Committee in eases where players had been reported for roughness, and it was asserted that the Union had done more harm to football this year than at any other time, A proposal to instruct tbe committees that no person other than the referoe should have power to report a player for misconduct on the fiold was carried by a small majority. A member of the Melrose Club was disqualified for two years for using violent language to the referee in the match against Victoria College Club. It was decided to instruct the Wellington delegates to the New Zealand Union to support any Union moviDg in the direction of excluding tbe sending of a coach with the team for England.
