TRAIN ACCIDENT.

Per Press Association. Christchurch, last night. John Small, a carter residing at Ludbrooks, whilst driving two horses in a cart over the railway crossing near Prebbleton, was run into by the 4.45 p.m. train from Christchurch to South Bridge. Small was brought into town iu a semi-conscious condition. On being examined at the hospital it- was found that several ribs were broken, and it is feared that he Is hurt internally. One of the horses was bo" badly mangled that it had to be shot. Tho dray was carried by tho eDgiuo about a chain along the line, and then thrown off.
