Arising out of the paa-rifle accident at an Auckland suburb on February 5, a boy at 14 named Samuel Wilkinson, was charged at the Police Court with having fay culpable negligence caused aotual bodily harm to Corns Wuiniger another boy of 14, under circumstances that had death taken piece he would have been liable for manslaughter. The evidence Bhowed that the boys spent an afternoon shooting. Acbused, without the intention of aimfng. pushed Winniger’s back with the .mn»T; of tho rifle. The weapon went off, causing an injury from which_ Win * _ has now recovered, though sue bullet is still in his body. Wilkinson was committed for trial. He was allowed bail hie father’s surety.
