William Joseph Williams, of Waimangaroa, appeared to-day on a second charge of indecently assaulting a girl 14£ years of age, and was committed for trial to the District Court sitting at Westport next month. The trustees of the Mornington Publio Library, who carry on operations in an unpretentious one-roomed building, have been notified by the, agent of the State Fire Insurance Department that as they receive a small Government subsidy, it is their dnty to insure with the State Department. The trustees have replied that they have no intention of removing the policy from the company with which they have done business for years.
