Jules De la Fosse, acting as spokesman for the Right in the Chamber of Deputies’ debate on foreign affaire, advocated an alliance with England, which would ensure an absolute and unlimited victory against Germany, since Britain would destroy the German fleet aDd blockade her coasts until Germany surrendered in order to save her foreign trade. The Kaiser was trying to destroy the entente and prevent Franco joining Britain in the conflict he foresees between Germany and Britain.
