Tho concert in tho Ormond Hall on Monday night was nut so well attended as it deserved. It was organised by Miss Neill, and the ladies and gentlemen who kindlv contributed the various items acquitted thimaelves in a manner which won tho heartiest applause from all present. Miss Kirkley, who was accorded a warm welcome, gave tho two sweetly sung numbers, “ Dreaming Eyes of Long Ago,” and “ Sunny Sunflower.” Miss Hanson was heard to good eflact in lbs pretty song, *• While tho Convent Bclls_y.'orß Binging.” In her selection, “ I Trust you Still,” Miss McGuirk more than sustained tbs reputation which Bba has long enjoyed. Messrs P. Doyle and H. Hall appealed to the ri'siblo /acuities of the audience, the former lending additional humor to tho already humorous “Ballymoney Conversazione,” while tho latter in “ Why Don’t- You Get a Lady ° [ Your own ” nnd " The LaD 6 h J n S Song,” gays those present a treat and a good laugh suob os they have not enjoyed for ft long lime. Mr Half wes encored a lain and again. Thp portiou of the programme was supplied by Misses Neill and Licbtwark and the Misses Lichtwark, and they deserved the admiration so freely expressed by all. Special mention should bo wade of the faultless pKccution of it Walter Lichtwark m his beautiful violin solo, “ Ave Maria ” (Masca°hi) The singing of Mr Dudley Treat is worthy of spacjAl mention, aod seldom bas the audience bsd the privilege of hearing a vocalic of euch high rank. His tine, full, highly cultured vcice was heard to great advantage in tbe-apirited sang, •' The Deathless Army,” and in that old favorite, 11 In Old Madrid.” To all, to Miss Neill, tho successful organiser, to tho ladies and gentlemen who bo willingly lent their valuable assistance, and to the ladies of Ormond who provided tho refreshments, Father Lane desires to ezpreep his sincere thanks.
