Mr James Crichton, conductor of the Garrison Band, was to-night presented with a handsome gold medal given bv Boosey and Co. in recognition of the. „ success la ‘he Auckland contest. Mr Wijhs read a letter,from Mr Boosey,in which he highly eulogised tho Band. Mr Willis saw Mr Boosey during his recent visit to Eng,and, and Mr Boosey was so dolightod at the Wanganui band’s achievement that he a-ked Mr Willis to convey a meeal to tho baud.
In the inter college football matches, Te Aute v. Wanganui rosulted in a win for Wanganui Seniors by 9 to nil, and the Te Aute Juniors by 21 to 8. .
