UNION CO.’S PURCHASE.

A NEW STEAMER. (Per Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. The Onion Company have purchased tho British.-owned steamer Cavalier, .delivery to be given in July. Tho steamor is to be re-n&mei tho Karitine, and will form one of the company’s “K ” class of coal and cargo carriers. She is a steel screw steamer of 137 G gross register, built by Austen and Son, Sunderland. She carries over 2000 tons on a draught of 163 ft.
