BARQUE WRECKED.

Auckland, last night. A telegram from Kaipara reports the barque Emerald has been wrecked on the beach several miles north of Kaipara Heads. The vessel was driven ashore in a gale at on Thursday. The crew landed > n tke ship’s boat. Four of the number proceeded to the lighthouse and reported the occurrence at 9 o’clock last night. . The weather was very thick and dirty at the time the Emerald was wrecked. The barque Emerald was in charge of Captain Bushell, part owner., She was coal | laden, and was not insured.
