A KETCH AGROUND.
NARROW ESCAPE OF TWO MEN-
Tho Opotiki Horald of Juno 6th says : Yestorday morning the auxiliary ketch Albatross was endeavoring to negotiate an ehtranco to Opotiki when she stuck, and despite every effort of captain aod crew remained hard and fast.- The ws ither was settled, with no sea running,,so that the vessel was nob in the slightest danger. Captain Edwards, however, was determ ned to make the posifcion'of tho ketch as secure as possible, and set off a boat with two men to lay kedge anchors. Tho boat, unfortunately, was caught in the current and upset, the occupants being thrown at the mercy of the tide, which was running strongly. A signal from the vessel was seen on Bbore, and Pilot \Vbitc with a boat’s crow set off at once to the rescue. Before they arrived on the scene, however, the two men had managed to reach the vessel’s side, and were hauled on board much exhausted. The ketch got off with tho evening tide and came up to tho wharf.
