As tho 6.20 p.m, train from Auckland to Henderson on Saturday night was approaching the Kingland station the engine crashed into a horse that had strayed on to the line. The unfortunate animal, which was killed and terribly mangled, [ was thrown to tho side of the line, where it lay till Monday morning, when its remains were interred by the platelayers.
