"REDUCTION IN FREIGHT.
.(Per Press Association-) Wellington, last night. The quantity and value of the various lines of produce experted from the colony during the month of May are as follows : —Butter, 6674 cwt, value £26,537 ; cheese, 74090 wt —£17,279; beef,- 23,995 cwt £31,011; mdttOD, carcases 118.974 £55,256; lamb, carcases 307,435 — £193,689 ; wheat, 138 bushels—£24 ; oats, 76,156 bushels —£6716 ; flax, 3182 tons —£79,624 ; potatoes, 28 tons—£2l6. The direct lines of steamships trading botwoon Now Zealand and London havo arranged to make a reduction in general cargo rates from those ruling last taking effect from to-morrow.
