The Premier received two deputations on local matters to-day, and left for Wellington to-night. • One of the deputations which waited on tho Premier to-day regarding the flooding of Lake Ellesmere lands, asked Mr Seddon whether there was any probability of revaluation of lease in perpetuity holdings in Lake Ellesmere district. Mr Seddon said he could tell them this much, that a contract once made with the Government was sacred as far s.s he was concerned. “ Don’t yon.lose any sleep over the matter,” he added.
