The wicket was heavy. The partnership of Jackson and Braund lasted just over an hour, tho sixth wicket falling at 125. King played Noble on. Seven for 165. Jackson was taken splendidly by Darling at short-leg. Except for a lucky snick the innings was masterly. He hit nine fourers, and drove Laver into the pavilion. He batled 165 minutes. Duff went out first ball. The match was then abandoned, Hearne getting one wicket for one ball.
