(Pec Presa Association. 1 ) Dunedin, last night. Obituary : Mr John Scott, an old’ resident, aged 77 years, father of Mr Scott (ex-Mayor) and W. and R,- Scott. Deceased, who was an engineer, assisted in fitting np the Auckland gasworks. He was for some timo on tho Government steamer Sturt. Ho was engineer for f£ie refrigerating works for some years. Mr T. IC. Sidoy, M.H.R. for Cavereham, addressed his constituents at South Dunedin, aud was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. He suggested that tba Address in-Reply debate should be dropped to expedite business. The general trend of his remarks was in favor of the Government policy.
