TVTOTXCE ia hereby given that an spplication has been received by this Council for a License to lay a PRIVATE Tramway upon certain County roads. The name of the applicant is Mr William Lee Rees, of Gisborne, Solicitor. The roads proposed to be crossed are :—(1) Tho main County road, from eastern side of the Karaka Railway Station to the Rangatira Ford; thenoe to the Puhatikotiko crossing of the Waipaoa river and the road from the ford to tho Whatatutu road; (2) the road from the western side of the Karaka Railway Station to the Waikohu bridge, thence across the bridge, by way of the Whatatutu road, to Tapuihikitea-C Block.
A plan of the route of the tramway may be inspected at the office of the Council, Lowe Street, Gisborne, daily, during office hours. The Council will sit to hear objections to the proposal to construct this tramway, on FRIDAY, July 7th, 1905, at 2 o’clock p.m. A memorial of objection to granting this license signed by any ratepayer may be deposited at this office until 5 o’clock p.m. on the 3rd July, 1905, and objectors muet be prepared to give evidence before the Counoil on the 7th July, 1905, at 2 o’clock p.m. iJ.OIIN JYAJRiREN, Clerk.
