Apparently the “ great revolt” against Liberal Democracy which Opposition papers have lately assured us haß been stirred up by Mr Masßey in the South Island has not extended to Dunedin, says the Auckland Star. In the very city where the Leader of the Opposition, according to ris journalistic supporters, lately produced 10 profound an impression by his merciless inslaughts upon the Government and all ts works, the Premier has been received >y one of the largest audiences ever fathered there, and has had the pleasure if hearing this vast concourse assert its I “ unabated confidence in the administraI tion.” It will be interesting to learn how I the Opposition journals wiil explain away this emphatic vindication of Mr Scddon’s continued ascendancy. But the loDg and able speech which the Premier delivered last night at Dunedin contains a sufficiently conclusive defence of the policy that his Government has followed, and of hia own share in its administration and legislation '•‘Scatter ‘your minions !” said ■Disease one day •Toi the itlemon) Cold anil his friend Decay ; “Winter is hear i/O give yoiu! a hand, Onli ! friend, putand ravage the land.” K *i I can’t,/’ said the Demon, “ I’m quite out ot work, A mortal named.
