Owing to a oontinuaneo of heavy rains, owners of stock have had to remove thorn to high levels. Tho Manawatu river is rising rapidly, and has roaohod tho lovol of tho road near the Gorgo. If heavy rain continues there is every prospoot of a vory serious flood. Wanganui, yesterday. It has boon raining heavily for the past two days, and floods aro threatened. Reports roooivod here stato that serious slips have occurred on tho railway line to Taihapo. Feilding, yesterday. Heavy rain ha 3 been falling sinoo yesterday afternoon. Tho Oroua river is in flood. No damage is reported as yet. Work in connection with tho water and ewerago sohomo has been suspended, and large number of men aro idle-
