The Tokio newspapers Jiji and Shimpo forwarded a donation of a thousand sterl- t ing to the earthquake fund as a token of . - “ Japan’s sympathy with the Indian Empire, our beloved ally.” Lord Curzon replied that both people felt warmly and mutually concerning recent events. British and Indians admire the chivalry and] heroism- of the Japanese, facts which cannot fail to draw the two groat nations closer mutually.
