TWO WOMEN COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.
[(Per Presa Association.) Christchurch, last night.
Susan Wood, proprietress of the nursing home at which Miss Constance Cuddon died on May 3rd, and Mabel Atkinson, nurse at the same-home.- were. at.r th “ -nrogunrruuii'B Court to-day, before Mr Day, S.M., charged with having caused Miss Cuddon’s death by placing her in a straight jacket and thereby committed the crime of manslaughter. Both accused were represented by counsel. Evidence similar in character to that at the inquest was given. Counaol for tho defence did not address the Court. The Magistrate said a prima facie ease had been made out. Accused, who reserved their defence, were committed to the Supremo Court for trial, bail being allowed in sureties of £IOO each.
