SOCIALISTIC SARCASM.

MR REID AVOIDS DENGUE, BUT GETS OPPONENTS’ LASH.

By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrigh Received 9.50 p.m., May 29.

Sydney. May 29. The secretary of tho Queensland Socialistic Organisation has written to Mr Reid, expressing disappointment at the postponement of tho proposed anti-Socialist stumping tour. He adds : History teaches that all reforms have progressed more rapidly when their enemies have been most bitter and unscrupulous in their opposition. Slander, falsehood, misrepresentation, and vilification serve only to advance the cause against which they are used. Wo know nothing so calculated to hasten the speedy attainment of a cooperative Commonwealth as your continued advocacy of the present anarchical, destructive and wasteful methods. On behalf of the Socialists of Queensland we extend to you a hearty invitation and beg your acceptance at an oarly date.
