I Tho results for tho fourth week of the I New Zealand egg-laying competitions I show that the productive capacity of tho I 600 hens ongagod has considerably inI creased, though 210 hens have not yet I contributed a single egg. The totals for ) I tho respective weeks ore : First week 169, [ I second 255, third 203, fourth 394 ; grand : total, 1101. • I The white Leghorns of Harry Loger, of I Levin, are leading with 32 for tho past I week and an aggregate of 81. Tho white I Leghorns of F. Brooks, of South AusI tralia, are second with 26 and 76 ; I the silver Wyandottes of Hairy [ Crobor, of Westport, are third with 17 and 73; the white Leghorns of I Jonathan Hodson, of Blenheim, are third I with 19 and 40. There is a tio for fourth I place, the hons being the silver WyanI dottes of H. Sohnackonberg of Auckland (16 and 42), and tho white Leghorns of [ Mrs Aldridge, of Blenheim (13 and 45). Tho brown Leghorns of W. Maokay, of Nelson, are fifth with 13 and 38. The fowls are boing fed on plain every- , day diet, and the records should afford a useful comparison with those at Lincoln College, where a more experimental dietary scale is in use.
