SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS.
LABOR PARTY SUCCESSFUL. MINISTRY DOOMED. By, Electric Telegraph—Per Press 'Association—Copyright. Received 1.9 a.m., May 29. Adelaide, May 28. The weather yesterday was unfavorable for the elections, which, besides the Assembly, include half the seats in . the Council. Rain fell all the afternoon and evening, notwithstanding there was intense interest, and the polling was unusually heavy. The only burning question, apart from that of Labor versus Liberalism, concerns the franchise of the Upper House. The Conservatives wish to.maintain a £25 property qualification, tbe Liberals to re* duce it to £2O, and the Labor party to £ls. The figures will not be complete for any district till Monday, but incomplete scrutiny shows that a Labor victory is virtually assured in the metropolitan area, and they are polling heavily in many other districts, though the suburban areas are expected to tell against them. Anderson, Attorney-General, is hopelessly defeated at Port Adelaide. Judging by present indications the Ministry is doomed so far as oontinuanoe of office is concerned.
