Xunniolifife was caught at long on alter a skilful, but not faultless, display, the feature of which was his excellent driving. Ho hit five fourors, Hawke was dismissed in tho same over. The innings lasted 200 minutes. Laver was very fast oil the pitch.

After three overs the score was nine, and play was stopped owing to bad light. The game was resumed after thirty minutes’ delay. The bowlers changod ends, which proved effective. Jackson, who played with groat vigor, was in excellent form. Ho was caught by Trumper easily at third man off Laver. He made six fourers, including three off ouo over of Cotter.
