(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, last night. At Aldington to-day, there were large entries of all classes of fat stock in the yards, and a fair attendance, Beef showed some recovery in y,alu.es, and fat lambs were very firm. Prime fat sheep sold up, to, lest week’s' rates, but secondary, sorts were easier. Pigs Of all classes and especially, fat gigs were easier. There was a poor sale of store cattle, and dairy cows were pot qjuitc in such demand. Store sheep : There were only a few small lots offered, and they sold | well at late rates, The bulk of the I entry consisted .of twor-topth w.e- , tilers, and these sold as follows : I lots,' from'lSs 4'd to 12s lGd. i A few small lots of aged merino | ewes went at 3s lOd to, 7s lOd.j I i'at lambs : There was a very I lei'go yarding, made up principally, of good sized lines of prime quality. Bidding throughout the sale was very brisk, and tho range of prices for prime lambs and tegs was 17s Gd to 21s, and lighter Ids ad to 17s, | Pat sheep : There was a fairly 1 large yarding, including some prime lines of wethers and ewes. The market opened at the previous week's rates, and prime sorts maintained their values throughout, ,Unfinished wethers wese ‘easier, and When the butchers had filled their roqiuiremouls, ewes also declined, but the exporters came into the market, and took a considerable number of good quality. Handy weight ewes sold at prices ranging from 14s Od to. 17s Gd ; aged and inferior sorts were neglected, and brought lower prices than of late. The range of prices was : Wethers, prime 22s to 24s 4d, medium 20s to 21s Gd, unfinished 17s to 19s, ewes ext>'ra prime 21s to 23s Gd, prime ISs to 20s Gd medium' lCg to, 17s Gd, aged 14s »d to 15s Gil,Pat cattle if .The entry totalled 234,, mado up,' chiefly pf good and prime ■quality steers.
