At tho Supremo Court to-day Harry Hart, alias Jas. W. Harris, was found guilty of forging and uttering a cheque for ' £3. Later he was charged with forging a ohoquo for HI. Acouaed said he would plead guilty to writing the oheque. ' This was accepted. Accused’s record showed a conviction for forgery and false pretenoes at Auokland, and two convictions at Christchuroh for thefts of bicycles. He was sentenced to three years’ hard labor,
I In the oase of William Watt and Harry Boult, charged with assault, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, and aocueed wore discharged. John Condon was acquitted on a oharge of stealing from the person of Robert MoLernon, 23 years of age. He v was found guilty on the previous day of breaking and entering and stealing. He was sentenced to two years’ hard labor. Two sentences j at Hobart for vagrancy and false pretences were proved.
