Oamaru, Saturday. The four-yeax'-old son of Peter Mclvor, of All Day Bay, foil under tbo whorl of a cart yesterday. Passing over his head, it killed him.
Dargaville, Saturday. The township was startled at 3 o'clock by an explosion of ah acetylene gas generator at Williams Bros.’ stables. G'rirdler, a plumber, who was examining the; plant, was hurled to the roof of the building and recoivod serious injuries. Medical attendance was quickly on hand and his injuries wero found to bo extensive, his ribs boing fractured, lungs perforated, and his whdlo body hurt. There are no hopes of his recovery. Woodville, Saturday. At an enquiry into a fire at Thomas Bittle’s cottage about three weeks ago a verdict that there was no evidence as to the origin was returned ; also that the evidence of the family was unsatisfactory, and the jury were of the opinion that a majority of the articles in the proof of olaim were not in the house at the time of the fire.

The office-bearers of the local Baptist Churches have passod a resolution thanking Mr Taylor, M.H.R., for the action takon by him in connection with the soduotion and death of a young girl at Christchurch, ard urging an amendment of the law to cope with such a case.
