By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, May 9. The Japanese have occupied Tanchengtgna, eastward of Chantetufu. General Linevitch has forbidden his officers to use trains, and has thus made 200 more carriages available for the transport of troops, M. Doloasse, in receiving Baron Montono, the Japanese Ambassador, yesterday, assured him that France was scrupulously upholding the laws of neutrality. He repeated his former declarations. To-day’s French newspapers strongly resent Admiral Boshdostvensky’s elusive refUßah to French appeals to move on.

By Telegraph—Press Assoolatlon—Copyright Received 10.30 p.m., May 10. London, May 19. Admiral Roehdostvenßky, after a four days’ cruise, anchored off Thuonghoa on Saturday. He prepared to renew his stock of fresh provisions.
Admiral Jonquieres arrived on Sunday and ordered him to quit. Admiral Rosbdestvensky replied that he was not violating neutrality; he was merely resting his crews. He promised to leave on Monday. Admiral Jonquieres returned on Monday. The squadron was ready to sail. The order to depart was renewed, and Admiral Jonquieres, acting on later instructions, insisted on a definite departure.
The Russian press is nowise grateful to France for moving Admiral Roshdeßtveneky on.
A portion of the Paris press is indignant that the Japanese newspapers do not trust solemn French pledges. Received 10.37 p.m., May 10.
Admiral Roshdestvensky’s whole flee! quitted the vioinity of Vaupong yester day.
Baron Hayoshi, interviewed, said there was no crisis, but it would be unwise on France’s part to allow popular feeling in Japan to become further inflamed. There was every reason to suppose, after France’s repeated assurances, that France would see her way to relievo the anxiety. He flatly denied the Russian assertion that the Japanese are violating neutrality at Borneo It would be no advantage to Japan tc do so.
