PATENT MEDICINES.
PROPRIETORS' THREAT.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, May 6. The patent medicine proprietors refuse to deposit their formulae with the New Zealand officials, and are ceasing exports and all advertisements. Wellington, SaturdaySir Josoph Ward, Minister of Public Health, interviewed re the patent medioine cable, stated he had received no intimation on the subject. He had understood that, generally speaking, the present arrangement was satisfactory to the greut bulk of the patent medicine proprietors. The only question was the-best way to protect the public from deleterious medicines. He could not see that the proprietor of medicines had anything to fear under the regulations. - Ho simply lodged his formula confidentially with the Minister of Public Health. It did not go on record in the Department in any way. There must be misconception on the part of proprietors who were agitating in the matter. ■ However, he would look into the matter again.
