Mackenzie affirming,that, the contralising tendencies of the Eduootion Department are inimical to the work of education in the colony ; that instead of ’Parliament diminishing the powers of the Boards they should'be extended on sound economical lines-; that betbfer provision should be made for conveying children to central schools in sparsely populated districts.; and)that the ago limit of 14 years for.frce secondary education be extended in country districts.
