PRODUCE MARKET.
’(Pcct Press Association-. 1) Christchurch, last night. There has bed rather more movement in wheat during the week, as some busi□gbs is now-being done for export in view of the probable redaction in freight by ” direct steamer. Prices, however, show no improvement, purchaseshaving been made’ at 2s 6d and 2s 7d at country stations, most of tho lines being obtained at the first-named price. A line of 700 bushels of pearl and hunters was taken at 2s 7d ; 330 bushels of tuscan and pearl, 1400 bushels of tuscan and hunters, and lots of tuscan we-o all bought ui 2s 6d afV’ country stations, tho wheat being of prime milling quality. There is praotieally no real prime wheat offering. The only business passing’ in oats is in small lots. Buyers, who require large '' quantities are now offering in the south. Quotations are unchanged. • Beans are coming on the market, and 2s 6d is being offered at country stations. S Considerable quantities of potatoes are reported to have been rejected at the port. The opinion is gaining ground, as the orop is being dug, that the damage by blight is not nearly so bad as was anticipated, though it remains to be SBen whether the potatoes will keep welL ” ‘ .
