The Wellington Tradee’ Connoii has deoided to 00-operate with the Shop Assistants’ Association in a depntation.to the Premier re the non-enforcement of the Shops and Offices Act. , A resolution 1 was also carried urging the Government to prohibit the manufacture of white load in the colony, owing to the danger to the health of those employed and to the pnblio health. Daring discussion upon the latter motion, speakers said that it had been proved in England that the average life of white load workots was only five years.
