Tho Promicr recently opened negotiations with the other States in respect to the rate of intoroet .offering for Government securities and new issues thereof. Victoria, South Australia, Queensland, and Tasmania replied favorably, and Sir Joseph Ward, on behalf of New Zealand, conferred. The result will be that after Monday next tho New South Wales Government will only issue Treasury bills at 3b per oent., instead of 4. It is understood that similar action will be taken in other States. '
