SALE OF HORSES
675 GUINEAS FOR A COLT. Per Press Association. Christchurch, last night. There was a fair attendance at Tattersails’ Bazaar this morning, when Kelbnrn Lodge yearlings and a number of other thoroughbreds were submitted to auction. Many woll-koown sportsmen were present at the sale. Bidding was painfully slow, and the majority of the lots offered were passed in. Tho yearlings sold ranged in price from 10 to 50 guineas. The salo of some of Mr G. G. Stead's thoroughbreds took place in the afternoon. Uranus was knocked down to J. 0. N. Grigg for 170 guineas, 3nd Largesse to G. J. F. Palmer for 150 guineas. The champion colb Maohine Gun was started at 300 guineas and at 575 gaineas was knocked down to ' Messrs Netcleford and Solomon. The imported mare Fan Tan was Bold to J. O. N. Grigg for 100 guineas.
