In Chambers to-day application Was made to make absolute a mile nisi granted for habeas corpus in respect to Elizabeth Jioihnston, who Was recently convicted of sly-’grog selling and fined £SO on each of the two charges, on the ground 'that the Warrants were informal, inasmuch as the provision in the Jiustice of the Peace Act having reference to a Cumulative'sentence not having been complied with. The order was ■granted and as a result Elizabeth Johns! one, instead of having to ser,vo two month®, is now at liberty after haying served onetmointh.
