RUSSIA’S TROUBLES.

A serious oonfliot occurred at 7.30 this evening in Dzika street, when the Jewish Socialist Society, known as the Bund, had organised a demonstration. Troops which came to disperse the gathering fired into the crowd, killing four men and wounding forty persons, two of whom were women. The trouble in Dzika street began when, under the pretext of holding a memorial meeting for the late Jewish Socialist leader, a crowd of mo-e than 1000, mostly Jews, carrying red flags, marched to Dzika Btroet, and was met by a mixed police and military patrol of twenty men. The polioe declare the Socialists fired revolvers at them, the leaders inciting the mob Jo’ attack the patrol, which thereupon fired; Bevoral volleys into the crowd. The orowd removed all except nine of the woundedl These were taken to the hospital. It is expected that two or more of the wounded will die. The dead and wounded were all Jews. The police made many arrests. Other disturbances are reported to have occurred. The streets had been patrolled throughout the day, tbo authorities having anticipated tronble. The conditions here are causing much uneasiness and nervousness. Hand-printed proclamations have been found in the streets warning the public against walking near Government buildings and other places, as bombs would be thrown in these quarters. Several parents, whose children aro ,attending school in defiance of the sohool strike, have been warned by letter to withdraw their children, as the Bohool buildings would be blown pp. Bepresentatives of the party of violehee are visiting private persons and levying contributions for ammunition. They prodace listß, of names with the amounts to be oolleoted from each, and require the contributor to sign his L-.sme opposite these assessmentß.
