FATALITIES.

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. A cook named Spencer, a widower, aged about 60, who was accompanying the Ashnrst volunteers to Masterton to take aart in the Easter events, was killed at Masterton. He was olimbng on to the volunteers’ baggage truck, when he slipped and fell under the wheels, one passing over his chest and head. He was removed to the hospital, where bo died. A verdict of accidental death was returned.

On Saturday Louis Allen McLean, of Napier, assistant guard on the NapierWellington mail train, burst a blood vessel when the train was between Hakanui and Eketahuna, and died before reaching Eketahnna.
