GENERAL BOOTH.
WELCOME BY PREMIER AND MINISTERS.
(Per* Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. Thera was a large crowd to meet General Booth on arrival from the South this evening, inoluding the Mayor and representative ministers from most of the churches, a number of members of Parliament, and others. The General was briefly welcomed by the Mayor, and then held a meeting with the officers of tho Salvation Army. He is the guest here of Mr William Brown. It is understood'the Primate will confer with the General to-morrow. | The Premier wired: “The Ministry cordially invite you to be present at a reception proposed to bo given in your I honor at Parliament Buildings on Sa'.urI day afternoon, tho 29tb. I shall bo eXI tremcly pleased to hear that yourarrangeI ments will permit accepting the invitation. I Kind regards.” ( 'The Genoral roplied : “ Please present 1 my cordial thanks to the Ministry for their j kind invitation, acceptance of which gives I mo great pleasure.” 1 The General has received messages of j welcome from Lady Stout and prominent i colonists. . ;
