V ’Alrs * Townley was in the chair, and stas£ ed that the meeting had*'been called , for. the purpose of forming a commit- Jf§ tee to collect .subscriptions of lsNi or more from the women of New '■ ‘Zealand to erect a memorial to the late Mrs Sievwright, who devoted ec( much of her life for the good cf women.; . • T' Z •The nucleus of a 1 Committee was - then formed, Airs Townley being unanimously elected president, and Mrs Scott secretary, while Air Slack was elected assistant secretary. The consideration of the form ofthe subscription lists amd /the embodiment of the letters' to be ' sent - to the local bodies through tho colonics was held over until the nest' meeting. It was decided to invito suggestions throughout New Zealand ~lor different designs, the Committee &to decide from these what form the memorial should take. The next meeting will be held oh 1 - , Tuesday attomoon, at 3 o’clock, when the committee will ho added’ to. . The committee wish it to be clearly understood that tbe memorial is lo be erected by t-be women of New • 'Zealand irrespective of creed or association.
