OPPOSITION LEADER.
[(Poo Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. Thore was a large attendance at the (jrrison Hall, Mosgiel, this evening on the Ivitation of Mr D. Reid, member for Jaieri, to meet Mr W. F. Massey, leader }f the Opposition. The Mayor of Mosgiel presided. Mr Massey made a brief speech in the course of which he touched upon the functions of the Opposition, and took exception to the manner in which the business of Parliament was managed, and the delay in getting returns. He referred to tho Land Commission as a faroe. He went on to refer to a party organiser, and alleged that, to pay the organisers of the Liberal and Labour Federation, contractors and merchants who suppliod stores and newspapers who get largo sums for advertisements were circularised asking them to contribute to the funds of the organisation. Mr James Allen also spoke, and votes of thanks wore passed to the speakers and singers. Mr Massey speaks in Dunedin to-moriow evening.
