MINISTERS AT MOTU.
A PLEASANT TRIP.
The Ministerial party’s trip to the Motu is proving very pleasant. The weather has been good and the settlors have given the party a very hearty woleome. Councillor E.- Riohardson, one of Motu’s old settlers, is accompanying übe party. Those''who proceeded from Waihuka were: The iHoa. and Mrs Hall-Jones, Hons. McGowan Mayor and v Mayoress (Mr and Mrs Townloy), Messrs i Ksnnedy, Bright, Whinray, Captain Tucker, H. H. Wall, Armstrong, Schmidt, Matthews, Gordon, Ganelin and Muir. j Messrs Fraser and Harries were unable I to acoompany the party. I

In the evening a number of deputations waited on - Ministers with regard to looal needs, chie f among whioh wa3 a bi-weekly mail oonnt'ction with Gisborne and the pushing on o < tho Opotiki (Neil's) road. Mr Hall-Jo'oee, in reply, promised to j give attention to tba matters brought under his notice.
General satisf’oction was expressed by -» settlers at the op’ening of tde railway line to Te Karaka and the promised extension to Motu. The party will here early tomorrow morning. Th’oy lunoh at Pouf tutu, and expect to re.'toh town early in ■the evening.
