LAND COMMISSION.

Christohurob, last night. The Land Commission visited several village settlements in the vicinity of this city to-day.and in the afternoon went to Lincoln College, over which they wore shown by the director, Mr W. Lawrie. The director was asked and consented to give evidence before the Commission on the 26th inst., when there will be a sitting here in addition to one to-morrow. Mr Lawrie, however, stipulated that he should not be aßked to answer questions dealing with the political aspect of the enquiry.
