A GREAT MEETING. I (Per Press Association.) I Invercargill, last night. I The Rev. Father Hays, temperance I advocate, addressed a meeting here toI night, which is believed to be the largest I ever held in the town. Tho reverend I gentleman gave an eloquent and impresI sive address, in which he spoke strongly in favor of legislating against the evils of the [ liquor traffic, but he sought also to influ. ence the individual to total abstinence. He carried the meeting with him, and at the close a resolution was carried endorsing his remarks.
