The police are still investigating the Ambetley burglary,.bat so far no fresh arrests have been made. A report that detectives were fired upon by a man they were attempting to arrest in eonnecfen with the burglary is officially contradicted. Daring the hearing of a civil case at the Magistrate’s Court to day, counsel detailed certain proceedings by a local member of the bar with regard to the securities of jjjjL client. The matter was considered eo grave by the magistrate that he e.dvised counsel to acquaint the Law Society with the particulars.
