CattoD,. secretary of the Amalgamated fi Society of Carpentors and Joiners, aodpb* tained the following information as tojro- •*,' posed alteration to clauses of the aracd 5? given by the Arbitration Court:— .. j ; Clause 1. The recognised hours of w>rkß|| of journeymen carpenters and joiners not exceed 48 hours’ work a week, tnd . shall be between the hoars of 7 a.m. m 3 5 p.m., on Mondays to Fridaya (both a»ya inelusive), and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays. Except during the winter morths Vr of May, June and July, whoa 45 hiurs ,■ shall constitute a week’s work. Any tme worked over and above the aforesaid hcura to be paid for at overtime rates. Clause 2. A minimum rate of J ad- ! dition : Any workman having charge if a • * job of the value of £250 or over to be laid Is per day over and above the aforeiaid
mioimum rate of pay. Clause 3. Workmen at present holding A-. permits to work under existing conditions in present clause, but in future no. man to be given, a permit unless worked ' five years at the trade. \ Clause 4.
