A SYDNEY DEPUTATION.

A deputation representing the liquor trade submitted their views of tho now Licensing Bill to the Chief Secretary. Thoy asked that hotols bo opened at stated hours orj Sundays. They complained of tho unfair competition of ciobs. They usknd that permission bo given to supply liquor on a doctor’s prescription, and that ft heavier lino should bo inflicted on n buyer than on a Boiler within prohibited hours.'
l’bo Minister, replying, said ho would do nothing which tended to incroa6o work on Sunday. Ho was in sympathy in re, gard to the better regulation of clubs. Ho was afraid of tho doctors’ proscriptions proposal. He could sen no force in making a fine on buyers heavier than on sclicrß.
