During this year 189 dwellings and 63 shops have been erected in Palmerston North, reaching with additions to existing premises an expenditure of 12106,464. In 1901 the number of new bouses and buside=s places erected was 189, and in 1904 295. In" 1902 the total outlay was £59,116, and in 1903 £71,050, thus it will be seen that during the period cited, two years, Palmerston North has shown a great advance, while the three years together dis olose a total investment of £337,552 in' new buildings,;
