I THE VISITING CHAMPIONS.

The weather was perfect, with only ft light southerly to’temper the heat. The track was in good , order, and though in > the bicycle were several spills, these were dus more to the faults of the riders than the ground. Duffey, though he only scored one first out of three starts, ran pretty well up to his best form, but Shrubb was far from being himself,though ' he ran very pluekily in the mile and three mile handicaps, but he found the handicapper had been too generous in his starts. J. Arnst, who won all three wheel races from scratch,, was in great form', and none * 0 f t ho other competitors had a chance with him. Young Goodbehere, a college youth, Who defeated Duffy in the Dash Handicap, received a great ovation, and was" carried shoulder high off the field. The win of the.
