NOXIOUS WEEDS.
A STATE CROP OF RAGWORT. The Chairman of the Gisborne Branch of the Formors’ Union (Mr W. D. Lysnar) last night despatched ihe following telegram to tho Hon. J. Carroll: “Up to the presout tho Government stock paddock at Tiniroto has not been ploarcd of ragwort as promised. It is in full bloom, and stock are passing continually through it, tbps spreading the seed through thi3 district, l’be locarlnspeptor arranged for natives at Tiniroto to cloar it, but they have failed to do so. Unrestricted authority should be given to the local inspector to get men from Gisborne to dear i£ at any cost, lam asking yon on behalf of the faiffjers to see that the necessary instruction is given to get more mep wherever possible, aad not depend on cheap labor at Tiniroto. If this is not done promptly, the Government’s inaction will be, most serious to this district, as the farmers themselveß are doing everything possible to keep the weed put.”
